How to Monitor Appointment Availability and New Booking Slots
Watch public appointment availability pages for changes. Learn how to select booking-slot information and review alerts without refreshing all day.
An appointment page has no suitable slots, and the advice is to check again later. That is manageable once. When you are checking several locations or dates, it becomes a recurring task with no clear finish.
To monitor appointment availability, track a public page element that shows available dates, slots, or an availability message. A detected change can tell you when it is worth returning to the booking service.
This works best when the relevant information is visible on a stable URL. Many booking systems only reveal slots after a login, location search, or interactive calendar selection; those pages need a compatibility check before you rely on monitoring.
Find a page that represents your actual search
Start with the appointment type, location, and date range you would accept. A page saying “Appointments available” is not especially useful if those appointments are for a different service or city.
Look for a URL that preserves your chosen location or service. Open it again to see whether it returns to the same information. If every new visit resets the search, the tracker may read a generic starting page instead of your selected results.
Useful signals include:
- A list of available appointment dates for one office.
- A message saying no slots are currently available.
- A public notice announcing when the next booking window opens.
- An availability summary for a specific service.
Skip decorative calendar labels, loading messages, and changing countdowns. They can generate notifications without any new bookable appointment.
Create a booking-page tracker
- Copy the relevant public URL and open Track That Page.
- Load the preview and check that the expected location, service, and availability information appear.
- Select the smallest element that captures the slot list or status you need.
- Name the tracker clearly, such as “Passport appointment — central office.”
- Choose a check frequency available on your plan and save the tracker.
If the preview does not show slots, saving a generic page heading will not solve the problem. Use the booking service’s waiting list or notification option, or watch a public announcement page for the next release of slots.
Track That Page does not complete searches, authenticate into your booking account, or reserve an appointment. It observes selected page content during scheduled checks.
Prepare to act when availability changes
Decide which days, locations, and times you can accept before an alert arrives. Keep the documents or booking details you need ready in your own secure location, rather than putting personal details in a tracker name.
When notified, visit the original booking service and confirm that a slot is still available. Availability can change between the check, the email, and your visit. Complete the booking through the provider and keep its confirmation.
For example, a public page might change from “No appointments” to a list of dates. Some of those dates may work for you, but the alert does not guarantee that a slot remains open when you start booking.
If you also need to follow changes to service instructions, a separate government agency news tracker can help you watch official announcements.
Keep alerts relevant to the booking decision
Use separate trackers for different offices when each has its own page. Check the live source after each alert: a removed slot, changed explanatory text, or revised opening hours can also change the selected value.
Scheduled monitoring can miss brief availability between checks. For appointments with important deadlines, combine monitoring with the provider’s own notification system and direct contact options.
Appointment monitoring questions
Can it find cancellations for me?
It can detect a change to visible availability content, which may include a released slot. It cannot determine why the slot appeared or guarantee detection of every cancellation.
Can it monitor a private booking dashboard?
This guide covers public pages that load correctly in the preview. Do not assume a private session or information visible only after sign-in will be available to the tracker.
Does an email mean I have an appointment?
No. Only the booking provider can confirm your reservation. Treat the email as a reason to check the page.
Create an appointment availability tracker after confirming the public preview shows the information you need.
